Helping Uplift Communities

Communities often require a variety of support services to turn their project from a dream to reality. Our programs focus on helping communities and groups achieve their goals by promoting stewardship of new and valued community spaces and creating a healthy outcome for all. Parks Foundation offers project support from administration and accounting services to funding.

Together, we’re closing the green gap, addressing disparities in access to parks and greenspaces across Calgary. Last year, we created 21 new spaces for Calgarians!

Do you need help with your project? We have programs and grants that can help.

  • The Project Support Program (formerly known as the Project Gift Administration Program) offers free accounting services and a direct partnership with Parks Foundation to help bring your project to life. Participating in our Project Support Program also makes groups eligible to apply for additional Parks Foundation grants like the Amateur Sport Grant Program and the Building Communities Grant Program.   • The Stella Conceptual Drawing Grant Program Provides seed money for the development of a concept to re-envision Calgary’s parks, pathways, and natural areas with grants of up to $5000. This grant program was made possible by a generous donation from Mario Stella, a local businessman, philanthropist, and Rotarian who passed away in early 2013. Learn more.

  • More than just a grant! The Building Communities Grant Program supports a variety of community-led park and playground initiatives by awarding grants of up to $50,000. In addition to funding, we pride ourselves on providing ongoing support throughout the duration of each project. Learn more.

  • Promotes sport development and enhances sport participation for Calgarians of all ages. The program supports capital projects that provide significant benefit to the continuation and enrichment of sport with grants of up to $125,000. Learn more.
